| Abstract: |
| Guo Songtao was the first diplomat who, in the period of modern China field, studied western culture and rationally approached international affairs. He insisted on the values in practical patriotism beyond Chinese tradition and in open-mindedness so as to have formed his rational Sino-Western cultural idea and his peaceful foreign plan. There were great significance and Enlightenment values with his thoughts and ideas for modern Chinese getting out of "the Chinese Empire Dream" and facing the modern world. |
