| 科普著作具有科学性、文学性、通俗性及趣味性等特征,这就决定了科普翻译工作者在遵从传统的“忠实、通顺”翻译理论的基础上,还要另辟蹊径,研究译文如何同时表现出这些特征。威尔逊在研究圣经箴言的翻译中建立了翻译模式,将翻译活动看作分析源文本组成要素并将尽可能多的要素映射到目标文本中的过程。基于科普与箴言的相似,可采用威尔逊翻译模式的框架,结合翻译实例分析科普翻译中译者面对的各个要素,研究各组成要素的映射过程,以期为科普翻译工作者提供一定的帮助。 |

| Popular Science English (PSE) is possessed of scientific, literary, popular and interesting properties, which requires PSE translators to display these properties in the target text apart from adhering to the criteria of faithfulness and fluency. In the study of the translation of proverbs and their metaphors in the Bible, Wilson constructed a model, in which translation is viewed as a process of analyzing the essential components of the source text and mapping as many of the components of the message from the source text to the target text as possible. Based on Wilson's model of translation, this paper analyzes some major components of PSE translation and examines the mappings in the PSE translation, in an attempt to provide some practical help for PSE translators. |
