| 《元西域人华化考》被视为既继承了乾嘉考据学传统,又具有开新之处的新历史考据学名作。这部书综合运用逻辑推理、数量关系比较、多层次论证等考据方法,得出了元代西域人华化是一个普遍潮流的令人信服的结论。在史料的采择上,《元西域人华化考》一书既重视“正史”中史料的应用,又多方拓宽史料的采选范围,力求“竭泽而渔”,做广泛的搜寻以说明问题,这种方式同样具有“范式”的意义。作为新历史考据学的典范,《元西域人华化考》体现了陈垣先生深沉的现实观照,即鲜明地表现在学术上的争胜和文化上的争先,这正是新历史考据学之“新”的一端。 |

| Sinicization of Xiyu People in Yuan Dynasty is considered as a masterpiece that has inherited Text Critics tradition and opened a new path for the new historical textual criticism. With methods of logical reasoning, qualitative and quantitative analysis and comparison, proof at multi-levels, the book comes to a convincing conclusion that sinicization of Xiyu people is a general trend in Yuan Dynasty. Data are collected not just from the"official history" but from a wide range of sources. The approach has set up a paradigm. This book reflects not only Mr. Chen Yuan 's concern for reality, but his competitiveness and vision in academic research. That is also one important dimension of the new historical textual criticism. |
