| 石油英语作为科技英语的一个特殊类别,其构词和句法具有自身的特色,以实现其表达的简洁性、准确性、客观性、逻辑性和严谨性。石油英语词汇具有专业性、简洁性、抽象性、形象性和跨学科性,其汉语译词也应当遵循上述“五性”,以体现科技词汇翻译的严谨性;石油英语句式多包含名词化结构、平行结构、被动语态、多重复合长句和非言词表达,其句子翻译应当兼顾汉语句式特征,以保证译文的可读性。 |

| Abstract: |
| Petroleum English, as a special category of EST, boasts of unique characteristics in word formation and syntax for the purpose of achieving simplicity, accuracy, subjectivity, logicality and preciseness. The diction of Petroleum English is characterized with professionalism, simplicity, abstractness, figurativeness and interdisciplinarity and therefore the corresponding translated words should reflect the five traits. Moreover, the sentence patterns of Petroleum English involve nominalization, parallelism, passive voice, complex sentences and non-verbal expressions and thus the translation should take into consideration the features of Chinese sentence patterns to warrant the intelligibility of the translated versions. |
