Abstract:
The Views of Virtuous Honor play an important role in the thoughts of Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas. Thomas Aquinas inherits and develops Aristotle 's Views of Virtuous Honor. Therefore, they have both similarities and differences. They all affirmed the connection between virtue and honor, but differed in the understanding of moral connotation, type and orientation. Both had their own honor field and honor criteria, but they were subject to differences in historical conditions. All advocate the use of rational and appropriate principles to obtain virtuous honor, but the latter emphasizes more on the faith of God. Through the comparison of the connotation, honor field, honor criteria and access route between the two Views of Virtuous Honor, on the one hand, our understanding of the Views of Virtuous Honor is more systematic and scientific, on the other hand, it also helps to correct the narrowing and marginalization tendency facing the development of modern honor outlook and provides some enlightenment to the healthy and sound development of modern honor outlook.
