| 辛亥革命中,在京士绅恽毓鼎不仅真实记述了变动社会的政治秩序,而且还对主要的政治人物一一进行了点评,希望、失望,忠诚、无奈,力挽狂澜而又无济于事的惆怅落寞充斥其心间。尽管政治潮流浩浩荡荡无法阻挡,可民国成立后,其仍着旧服守岁,并因不满清帝退位、眷念旧朝而沦为满清遗老,成为辛亥革命期间忠清士绅的一个典型代表。 |

| In the Revolution of 1911, Yun Yuding wrote down not only the true accounts of the changes to the social and political order, but also the comments on the main political figure, full of hope, disappointment, loyalty, helplessness, and both melancholy and loneliness from turning back the powers of darkness with no avail. Although the political tide going forward with great strength and
vigour can not be stopped, after the founding of the Republic of China, he was still staying up in the old clothes because he was dissatisfied with the Qing Emperor to abdicate and felt nostalgic about the old Dynasty and became a typical representative among the gentry who were loyal to the Qing Dynasty during Xin Hai during the Revolution of 1911. |
