| 《淮南子》成书于西汉初年,晚至唐朝传到日本等近邻,新航路开辟后始传向欧、美等远邦;西方《淮南子》全译本的出现更是迟至21世纪。2003年由加拿大学者查尔斯·白光华领衔翻译出版的首部法语全译本、2010年由美国学者约翰·梅杰领衔翻译出版的首部英语全译本及其2012年的精华版,在《淮南子》远播欧、美的过程中具有里程碑意义。其中白光华为研究《淮南子》及中国传统思想还一度游学台湾,受到台湾《淮南子》研究大家于大成教授的点拨。香港语言学家及翻译权威刘殿爵教授也为《淮南子》的对外译介和传播立下了汗马功劳。 |

| Abstract: |
| Compiled during the early Western Han Dynasty, the Huainanzi disseminated to such Asian countries as Japan in the Tang Dynasty, and to European & American countries after the Opening of New Sea-route. The complete translation of the Huainanzi in the Western countries didn 't come into existence until the new millennium. During the dissemination of the Huainanzi to the foreign countries in Europe and America, the first complete French version mainly by Charles le Blanc in 2003, the first complete English version mainly by John S. Major in 2010 and its abridgment in 2012 are landmark events. Furthermore, Charles le Blanc traveled to Taiwan in order to study the Huainanzi and the Chinese traditional thought, and really got some directions from the famous researcher Yu Da-cheng. In Hongkong, the linguist and well-known translator Professor Din Cheuk Lau distinguished himself in the dissemination and translation of the Huainanzi. |
