Abstract:
In the metaphysical system of Jin Yuelin 's Lun Dao, Ji refers, on the one hand, to the moment when Neng joins itself into Keneng. It is also the moment when change emerges. On the other hand, Shu refers to the inevitability that Neng joins in, which indicates that changes have to happen. Ji is unknowable while Shu is predictable. Yun as Ji in an individual is changeable while Ming as Shu in an individual is inevitable. Thus an individual falls into the situation in which he both does without knowing and knows without doing accordingly. He is simultaneously trapped in the two difficulties. This confirms a discrepancy between one 's knowledge and behaviour and even provides a metaphysical justification of the discrepancy.
