| 煤、铁、石油作为重要的战略资源,在战争等特殊时期具有不可替代的战略意义。全面抗战时期,政府加大对矿冶高等教育的投入,有意识地实现教育资源在西部合理布局,为西部的资源开发与建设奠定了人才基础。西北联合大学长期坚持在西北办学,年毕业生人数与全面抗战前相比有了明显增长,培养的学生以工程教育救国为己任,扎根西北,用实际行动支援了抗战。矿冶高等教育在西北的布局与发展,为抗战取得最后胜利做出实质性贡献,加速了工程教育本土化,促进了西北地区实业建设,为“经营西北、巩固边疆”发挥了应有价值。 |

| As important strategic resources, coal, iron and oil have irreplaceable strategic significance in special periods such as war. During the total resistance against Japanese aggression, the government increased investment in mining and metallurgy higher education, consciously realized the rational distribution of educational resources in Western China and lay a talent foundation for the resource development and construction of Western China. National Northwest United University insisted on running schools in Northwest China for a long time, and the number of annual graduates increased significantly compared to the period before total resistance against Japanese aggression. The students cultivated by National Northwest United University took engineering education as their mission to save the nation, rooted themselves in the northwest, and supported the Anti-Japanese War through practical actions. The layout and development of mining and metallurgy higher education in Northwest China made substantial contributions to the ultimate victory of the Anti-Japanese War. It accelerated the localization of engineering education, promoted the industrial construction in Northwest China, and fulfilled its due value in "developing the northwest and consolidating the frontier". |
