| 张谷若翻译的莎士比亚长诗《维纳斯与阿都尼》,塑造了美丽、大胆、热情而执着地追求爱情的维纳斯形象。维纳斯以诱惑、劝说、蛮力追求美少年阿都尼,因遭到拒绝而委屈幽怨,又因阿都尼去狩猎野猪而恐怖惊慌,最后因阿都尼死亡而悲伤失意,不再留恋红尘。张谷若的译诗注重细节描写,译诗细腻生动,意象丰满。在语言上,译诗充分利用中国古典文学语言和修辞手法,包括大量的叠词、熟语、成语以及大量的对仗、对称的结构和句子,并多处化用中国古典文学中的典故。张谷若“地道”的翻译思想,使维纳斯形象带有明显的本土化倾向。 |

| Zhang Guruo 's translation of Shakespeare 's long poem Venus and Adonis portrays goddess Venus as a beautiful lady who pursues love with great courage, passion and persistence. Venus tried to win Adonis love by means of temptation, persuasion and force, and suffered bitterness when she was refused, terror and panic when Adonis went to hunting the boar. Sorrowful and disheartened when Adonis was killed, she was no hesitant to immure herself. In this translation of Zhang Guruo, the use of many descriptive details reinforces the vividness of images. Linguistically, linguistic expressions and rhetoric devices of Chinese literary tradition are employed extensively, such as allusions, idioms, four-character words, overlapping words, word combination and symmetrical structures, etc. For the idiomatic translation insisted by Zhang Guruo, the image of Venus is obviously domesticated. |
