The U. S. Academia 's Perception and Analysis of the Concept of "Working Together to Build a Global Ecological Civilization"

Abstract:
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the concept of "working together to build a global ecological civilization"—an innovative theory guiding China 's active participation in global ecological governance in the new era—has attracted widespread attention from the U.S. academic community.U.S. scholars primarily analyze the practical implications of this concept through the dimensions of policy and institutional interpretation, key thematic concerns, and Sino-U.S.relations. Furthermore, they explore its generating motivations from the perspectives of historical traditions, cultural concepts, practical challenges, and strategic layouts. In terms of impact assessment, the majority of studies maintain a relatively objective stance.Nevertheless, certain skeptical views persist, while other scholars have offered constructive suggestions based on their evaluations. This reflects that the overall cognition within the U.S. academic community exhibits group differences and pragmatic tendencies, alongside certain cognitive biases and misinterpretations. Consequently, it is imperative for China to pool the joint efforts of the government, academia, and the media to actively eliminate cognitive barriers and enhance international recognition, thereby providing solid support for cultivating an international public opinion environment conducive to the construction of a global ecological civilization.
