| “人民日益增长的物质文化需要同落后的社会生产之间的矛盾”是党的八大和十一届六中全会对中国社会主义初级阶段社会主要矛盾的认识和判断,这一表述一直沿用至今。随着中国改革开放30多年来的快速发展,社会生产不断提高,人民的生活不断丰富,对社会主要矛盾的认识也应与时俱进,应将其表述为“人民日益增长的生活需要与相对落后的社会生产之间的矛盾”。 |

| Abstract: |
| The contradiction between people 's growing material and cultural needs and the backward social production is the main contradiction. This is the understanding and judgement about China 's society in the primary stage of socialism made at the Eighth CPC National Congress and the sixth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the CPC. With the rapid development in more than 30 years since the adoption of reform and opening up, the social production continues to improve, people 's life needs are becoming rich, and the understanding of social main contradiction should also keep pace with the times. We suggest that the main contradiction is the one between people 's growing needs and the relative backwardness of social production. |
