| Abstract: |
| In the novel of The Siskin,Su Tong selects the narrative space of "Xiangchunshu street" and "Jingting hospital" which embody strong symbolic meanings, and with the social reality full of ills and the chaotic mental picture in Xiangchunshu street, mirrors the overall condition of Chinese society during the transition period of 1980s and 1990s. He takes the growth processes of three heroes Bao-run, Xian-nv and Liu Sheng that are closely related to the Jingting hospital as a microcosm and reflects the unique living circumstances and growth experiences of a generation. |
